Creating Meaningful Connections Through Intervention for Increased Functional Communication
As human beings, we know that connection creates a safe environment. When we are regulated and feel a sense of belonging, we are ready to learn, process information, and engage in a variety of activities. In this session, participants will explore strategies and evidence-based practices to enhance functional communication in children with speech and language challenges. By focusing on creating meaningful connections through intervention, this course will guide clinicians in tailoring their therapy to promote engagement, participation, and practical communication skills in real-life contexts. Using case studies, interactive activities, and actionable tools, attendees will gain the confidence to design interventions that foster not just communication but meaningful relationships and improved quality of life.
